Chocoversum

For all you chocolate lovers out there, I have a great tip for you! There is a chocolate museum in Hamburg. How cool is that?! The museum is called Chocoversum and is created by the chocolate manufactory Hachez.

Chocoversum is an interactive museum where you get the chance to not only learn about the process of chocolate production and learn interesting facts about different types of chocolate, but even more important to chocolate addicts, like myself, you get to try the chocolate in the different stages of production.

And if that isn’t exciting enough, you get to make you own chocolate! During the tour you will go with your group into a room, where each of you will be given a mold filled with melted milk chocolate and you can choose different ingredients that you want to put in the chocolate. So, for example, if you always wanted to try a chocolate, filled with gummy bears, white chocolate chips and chili, you can make this chocolate for yourself in Chocoversum.

After you are done decorating your chocolate you will write your name and put it in the refrigerator and your guide will give you the ready chocolate at the end of the tour.

The tour lasts around 90 minutes, but you can stay inside and explore other parts of the exhibition that are not covered by the tour as long as you like. There are tours also organized in English. I think they only take place on Saturday, but you can ask directly at the museum. The parts of the exhibition that are not part of the tour are unfortunately in German, but I am sure that if you ask one of the guides or even one of the visitors they will be happy to help.

You can buy tickets online or at the museum. I am not sure if that was a special offer for Christmas or if they offer it during the whole year, but when my husband and I bought tickets for us and my parents they asked us if the tickets are present for somebody. When we told them that they are meant as a present for my parents, they put the tickets in a very nice envelope with prospect for the exhibition and chocolates for both of them. It is a small gesture, but I found it really nice.

Have you been to the Chocoversum? If yes, what ingredients did you choose for your chocolate?
