If you like drinking tea, Meßmer Momentum should definitely be on your list of locations to visit in Hamburg. Meßmer is one of the most popular tea brands in Germany, as well as the oldest tea label in Germany, existing more than 160 years. In their tea lounge you can enjoy various types of tea, tea specialties, ice teas and tea cocktails. And for those who would like to eat something with their tea, they offer different tea menus, cakes, scones, mini macarons (my personal favorite) and other delicious snacks.
At the end you are given a box where you can put 3 tea bags, which you can choose from the tea shop and take with you free of charge. I think that is a really nice gesture and gives the visitors opportunity to try out other tea sorts from the Meßmer brand.
Meßmer Momentum is also a great place to visit if you are new in Hamburg or if you have people over for a visit. It is not only a tea room, but also a tea museum, where you can learn about the history of tea and the tea production process. You don’t have to pay anything extra for the museum. It is part of the whole Meßmer Momentum experience.
The location of Meßmer Momentum is also a great reason to go there. From the floor-to-ceiling windows or from the terrace, if the weather is nice, you have a great view of Hafencity.
